What is the Barndoor Campout?
The Barndoor Campout is a special, independent gathering hosted by Rikki James, created exclusively for owners of ‘Barndoor’ Buses, their immediate community and their families.
It’s a celebration of community, heritage, and shared passion among a close-knit group of early Volkswagen bus enthusiasts.
How does it work?
The Campout begins on Friday 20th June, with the day set aside just for the Barndoor community.
Friday is not open to the public, it’s a private day for owners to reconnect, relax, and take part in their own activities in a peaceful, low-key setting.
Come Saturday, the Campout merges into Classics at the Clubhouse. While Friday is reserved for the Barndoor community only, all visitors are welcome from Saturday onwards to explore the display, meet the owners, and enjoy everything the event has to offer.

Camping on the golf course will be really quite special, but being a golf course there are a few things to know.
-
There are proper shower facilities, these are located inside the clubhouse. A short walk from the camping areas.
-
There will be toilets - porta-loos on the course, proper toilets in the clubhouse, halfway-house and the hotel reception.
-
There are both restaurants and bars available in the clubhouse.
-
Hook up - there is no electric hook up. Sorry.
-
Access to the course is via a track and over a fairway. It's imported to drive slowly and steadily at all times. There are lakes and bunkers which are sometimes hidden by a slope. Take it easy.
-
Our green keepers are nice guys - they work hard really hard to keep the place looking the way it does. Please don't make their lives harder by causing unnecessary damage.
-
Always drive safely and respectfully. Do not drink and drive.
-
The venue does not allow fires or BBQs of any kind.
-
Please be respectful to the golfers and do not wonder into areas where golf is in play.
-
Please do not enter roped off or marked areas. This is for your safety and to protect the course.
-
Thank you. The Barndoor Campout is a private event hosted by R James, it is exclusively for 'Barndoor' bus owners only.
-
The Barndoor Campout is not a public event and is not run by 'Classics' or Sandford Springs, we are simply providing the platform and the venue.
